Guest Musicians: Andy Sherwood, Sax/Clarinet Clarinetist/Saxophonist Andy Sherwood has recently retired from the United States Coast Guard Band after 30 years of active duty service. He was the leader of the Coast Guard Dixieland band for 15 years and also performed swing music on clarinet and saxophone with the Coast Guard Band’s Masters of Swing. Under Andy’s leadership, the Coast Guard Dixieland Band performed at the Kennedy Space Center; the Kennedy Center’s Millennium Stage in Washington DC; and jazz festivals in Sun Valley, Sacramento and Connecticut. They also performed in Hawaii, Japan, England, as well as throughout the United States. Andy has performed alongside renowned jazz musicians Pete Fountain, Makoto Ozone, Randy Sandke, the Dukes of Dixieland and Bob Draga. Andy performs occasionally with bands in Connecticut and with his own Dixieland jazz quartet.
